Original title / Originaltitel	Abklärung von plötzlichen Säuglingstodesfällen (SIDS) mittels postmortaler molekulargenetischer Analysen
Summary / Zusammenfassung	The causes of sudden infant death syndromes remain obscur. Clinical, epidemiological as well as neuropathologic observations suggest a genetic background for some of the cases. Candidate genes, i.g. the serotonin transporter gene have been proposed (Moon RY et al.(2007) Sudden infant syndrom, Lancet 370:1578-87). To test a possible implication of this gene and others the 240 cases of SIDS cases of the institute of legal medicine are investigated.
