Title / Titel	Development of a probability function to diagnose acute myocardial ischemia in patients with chest pain

Summary / Zusammenfassung	Background: In medical practice it is difficult to differentiate between acute myocardial ischemia and opther cuses of chest pain. Objective: The aim of this study is to deduce a probability function for calculating the probability of acute myocardial ischemia in patients with chest pain. Methods: Vignettes desribing patients with chest pain will be developes and sendt to experts in the field. These experts estimate the probabilities of acute myocardial ischemia and from thes data a prbobability function will be derived. Expected Value of the Proposed Project: The resulting probability function will allow physicians to calculate the probability of acute myocardial ischemia. This aids physicians to decide which patients should be refered to the Coronary care unit immediately, which can be sent home and in which patients further tests should be oredered.
