| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Synthetische Biologie ist ein aufkommendes Forschungsgebiet mit dem Ziel, neue Organismen herzustellen. Einerseits werden dazu Bausteine aus verschiedenen bio-logischen Signalketten kombiniert, um Organismen mit neuen Eigenschaften herzu-stellen. Andererseits stellt man künstlich neue Genome her. Man erhofft sich, diese Technik in der Entwicklung von Medikamenten oder Umweltgifte abbauender Orga-nismen anwenden zu können. Die besondere Eigenschaft der Synthetischen Biologie liegt nicht nur in ihren technologischen Möglichkeiten, sondern auch im neuen Um-gang mit “Leben”. Die Macht, Lebewesen zu unseren Zwecken zu kreieren, wirft neue moralische Fragen auf. Mit diesem Projekt sollen solche Fragen aufgelistet, untersucht und mit moralischen Fragen aus herkömmlichen Techniken verglichen werden. Im Dialog mit Forschern wollen wir daraus ethische Richtlinien erarbeiten. | ||
