1. Pabst, Eva: Teaching an Learning how to Write
   
   This project aims at analyzing a new method of teaching and learning at university. The method is currently applied in a course for future teachers of German at the Gymnasium. During the first phase of their training, teacher-trainees correspond with students by email and assist them in various writing projects. We then analyze how certain concepts of writing influence the trainees’ teaching practice. This project is thus aimed at developing a new from of teaching writing at the university.
   
   
2. Zimmermann, Tobias: Blended Dialogue – Communicative Learning in Lectures with High Numbers of Participants
   
   Attendance at classical lectures usually leads to a rather poor learning success. Still ex-cathedra teaching is an often favored way to cope with a high student to teacher ratio. To solve this conflict between organizational and pedagogical requirements, a dialogical setting has been developed using an online learning platform. One goal of this thesis is to analyze the potential of online discussions among students to foster their individual learning. A further goal is the search for promising online communication patterns with the objective of giving teachers and students direction how to tap the full learning potential of online discussions.
