| Summary / Zusammenfassung | This research is being conducted within the framework of a longitudinal study (Principal investigator: PD Dr. Bettina S. Wiese; SNSF Project No. 100013-112548/1) focusing on the determinants of a successful transition back to work after a maternity leave. Here, a maternity leave is defined as any time a mother takes off from work to take care of her children; it can last from a few weeks to several years. Whereas the overarching project mainly focuses on the influence of gender-role attitudes, personal goals, and organizational factors, this project examines different kinds of support from the life partner and how their impact on transition success and well-being changes over time. To this end, I am analyzing questionnaire data from three measurement points as well as diary data collected on 14 consecutive days. Although most mothers return to work after their maternity leave, for the large part, research on this transition is scarce. |
