Title / Titel	Cardiac syncope in children: follow up and risk factors

Summary / Zusammenfassung	Syncope in children and adolescents appears to be quiet common, with at least 15% of children and adolescents experiencing at least one syncopal episode. The underlying cause is usually benign with neurally mediated syncope being the most common. However, a malignant underlying cardiac condition with potentially lethal causes must be considered early during evaluation. We aim to assess potential elements in patients/ family history, event triggers, pathologies in physical examination or routine investigations that may distinguish benign forms of syncope from significant underlying heart disease. Moreover, we aim to determine a reasonable follow up for those in whom a malignant underlying cardiac condition can not reliably be ruled out.
