Title / Titel	Control of saccadic eye movements by visual attention

Summary / Zusammenfassung	The latency between the appearance of a visual target and the start of the saccadic eye movement to look at it varies from trial to trial to an extent that is inexplicable in terms of simple physiological processes such as synaptic delays and conduction velocities. Recently, we have discovered a paradigm to accurately control the latency distribution of visually elicited saccades by manipulating the prior probability of the target. This data will further refine models of saccadic reaction times involving areas of the frontal cortex as well as the extrapyramidal system.
