| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The study is a prospective field study, which examine different modern approaches to ED (out-patient therapies, in-patient therapies, self-help groups). It was inspired by the European COST B6 research programm "Psychotherapeutic Treatment of Eating Disorders" and is compatible with its research design. This study, however, is more detailed and represents an extension of the European research program. The main objective of this project is to find answers to the following questions: Which individuals avail themselves of which therapy? What experiences have ED suffers had with the various forms of therapy during the course of their disease, and how has this influenced their choice of therapy? How successful is the treatment, and what is the catamnesis of patients, in various forms of therapy and self-therapy? What specific psychopathological characteristics beyond the diagnosis of ED explain the choice of therapy, the outcome and the catamnesis? In addition to sociodemographic data, the following parameters are to be examined: psychiatric diagnosis Axis I and Axis II according to DMS IV, severity and course of ED, additional specific psychopathological features (body image disturbances, impulse dyscontrol, dissociation problems, problems of sexual identity), therapeutic motivation, personality traits, psychosomatic symptoms and social network. |
