Summary / Zusammenfassung	Avoidance goal striving has been shown to exert their negative effects on different outcome variables through a variety of diverse processes (e.g., emotional, mental control, perceptual process) (Elliot & Friedman, 2007). In the present research we suppose that striving for avoidance goals evokes a further negative process, specifically a decline in volitional resources. Additionally, in a series of studies we investigate the concept of volitional resources to explain the harmful effects of avoidance goal striving on different outcome variables. We expect that avoidance goal striving consume and deplete volitional resources which again harm motivation, well-being and behavior.
