| Summary / Zusammenfassung | During summer ,when sheep are kept in big flocks up in the Alps, a method for long time and reversible suppression of reproductive function is urgently needed. With such a contraceptive method selected breeding and time of parturition can be chosen by the farmers. Experiments are performed using 28 cyclic ewes which are randomly divided in two groups treated with either chlormadinon acetate (CAP) or medroxyprogesteron acetate (MPA). Duration of cyclic suppression as swell as beginning of cyclic activity and conception rate at first estrus after the gestagen treatment will be evaluated. | ||||
