| Summary / Zusammenfassung | The study is placed in the area of historiographical research on "social pedagogy" in Switzerland. Many german studies point out that the process of establishing a concise scientific theory on welfare issues begins at the same period of time where the public dicussions about welfare states take place. For this reason the project focuses on the discussions in the early 19th Century. The material under study is by the "Schweizerische Gemeinnützige Gesellschaft"(SGG), the dominating philantropical welfare organisation in Switzerland, that creates and controlls the disourse about social problems, poverty, education and social policy at that time. The aim of the research is to analyse the professional codes of ethics – especially the idea of "brotherly love" - in the context of its discursive transition. | ||
