| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Using the experimental paradigm of implicit memory research, effects of specific study events on performance in test tasks with highly conceptual processing requirements are investigated. Particular interests concern the issues of (1) indirect long-term priming effects (as opposed to the more common direct or repetition-priming), and (2) inhibiting effects or negative priming (as opposed to the usual facilitation or positive priming effects) of prior study events. Recent experiments have taken a new direction in order to investigate the prerequisites of cognitive tasks, which make them susceptible to the influence of specific (episodic) experiences. | ||
