Identifying, isolating and maintaining the epidermal stem cell compartment
Summary / Zusammenfassung
A central issue of our research is the identification, maintenance and/or enrichment of (adult) stem cells in vitro. Recent data suggest that the use of stem cells grown in appropriate stem cell ‘niches’ may solve current problems occurring with in vitro reconstructed tissue equivalents. Our goal is to contribute to a better understanding of stem cell regulation at both the molecular and cellular level.
