Summary / Zusammenfassung	Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a genetic problem in certain cat breeds. In order to avoid breeding with affected cats, echocardiographic screening is performed. However, affected cats may be missed by echocardiography, because phenotypic abnormalities may be minimal. It has been suggested that cardiac troponin measurement may be a useful screening test for early recognition of affected cats. Thus the goal of the study is to evaluate the usefulness of troponin measurement for early detection of HCM, and to objectivate myocardial damage in these cats using positron emission tomography.
