| Summary / Zusammenfassung | "Traumwelt Tibet - Westliche Trugbilder" is the title for a research project initiated some time ago by the Ethnographic Museum Zurich. It deals with various facets of popular ideas and idealizations concerning the Land of Snow: trivial myths in travelogues, fictions, comic strips, films and images, transforming real Tibet into a screen of wonder. The result of the research was presented to the public in an exhibition and a publication. The exhibition will travel to Kitzbühel and Graz (Austria) in 2002. |
