  1. Badr Goetz, Nadja: Dialogic Learning as Pedagogic Innovation. Evaluation of an Implementation of this Didactic Model at a Swiss Gymnasium

    In the context of a teaching research project which lasted one year, eleven teachers at a Swiss gymnasium were introduced to the basic principles of Dialogic Didactics. The goal of this evaluation was determine factors influencing the successful education of teachers, enabling them to work with complex didactic arrangements. A further goal was to study teachers' level of acceptance of this pedagogical innovation. In accordance with these goals, evaluative instruments of social science are used to study the processes and the context of the implementation, as well as teachers' interpretations of them.   2. Weber, Christof: Developing Mathematical Imagination – Implementation and Exploration of a Didactical Instrument for Teaching Mathematics at Secondary Level

    Both the TIMSS and PISA studies have made it abundantly clear that mathematics didactics does not pay enough attention to fostering students' mental representations underlying mathematical terms and calculations. The instrument of mathematical imagination exercises allows students to narrow the gap between everyday concepts and genuine mathematical thinking for gaining a deeper understanding of mathematical terms and procedures. This didactical instrument is explored by paying special attention to its acceptance by the students, what attitudes they developed towards it and how they used it in their learning.
