| Summary / Zusammenfassung | In this project, the partners (designers, experts, users) from the Universities, Universities of Applied Sciences and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology develop hybrid teaching modules for the planning, preparation, (carrying out), analysis and interpretation of laboratory experiments. The fundamental concepts of scientific experimental approach are thus reinforced in an application-oriented manner and time spent in the laboratory is put to more efficient use. The course design (for which the department of Education, University of Zurich is responsible) follows a cyclic and/or logical progression of interactive learning objects (LOs) which promote explorative, project-oriented learning in teams. Recent findings from research on teaching and learning are integrated into the planning, design and development of the modules. In order to meet the users’ needs, the learning contents (i.e. topic, level, language, learning activity, software) are selected form a database of standardised, reusable LOs. This technical concept also facilitates the development of teaching materials through cross-media publishing, and allows for their continual maintenance and rapid updating. The quality of the new learning offering is controlled by an advisory board and evaluated with the help of various groups of users in Switzerland and abroad (students, teachers, practitioners). | ||||||||
