Title / Titel Incidence, risk factors and long term outcome of uveitis in children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung Background:
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatic disease in childhood. Uveitis may be a complication of juvenile arthritis, affecting up to 40% of children in certain subtypes of juvenile arthritis. Much progress has been made in the treatment for juvenile arthritis in the last decade due to new immunosuppressive drugs available. It is not known how the improvements in treatment opions will affect the incidence and outcome of uveitis in children with JIA.
Aim:
To assess incidence, risk factors and longterm outcome in children with juvenile arthritis treated at the University Children's Hospital Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic.
Methods:
Retrospective chart review of all patients with diagnosis JIA treated at our centre. Course of arthritis, medication used, onset and course of uveitis and the last available ophthalmologist report will be collected.
