Summary / Zusammenfassung
Pregnant woman were interviewed. Based on the results we know what kind of information medical doctors provide their patients. Furthermore, we know, that most women had not enough information to make an informed decision. Their knowledge about the prevalence of having a child with a down syndrome and their knowledge about the test characteristics was mostly inappropriate. Information strategies of physicians did mostly not lead to an informed decision. Data of the qualitative study will be analyzed in some more detail the next two years.
