| Summary / Zusammenfassung | In 2007 the effect of learning the method of systematic observation of unknown phenomena has been tested with 174 criminal investigators in eight different Swiss Cantons. Their mean age was 42 years and they had an average of 17 years of professional experience on their job. Of all the investigators 67 percent found the method to be useful or very useful for their work and 80 percent considered the method to be a good or very good instruction and training in critical thinking. The next step consists in the evaluation of the learning effect of those specialists. Does the method improve critical thinking skills in experienced professionals as well as it does in students? For 2009 a new experiment has been designed in order to assess the interrater-reliability between trained specialists (prosecutors) and by trained graduate students over a larger range of different cases. In the same proceeding we want to measure if learning the method can improve the creative thinking process used for the abduction or hypotheses. Weitere Informationen |
