Completed research project

Title / Titel ADS40 airborne scanner data
PDF Abstract (PDF, 14 KB)
Summary / Zusammenfassung In collaboration with the Federal Office of Topography (swisstopo) we evaluate the quality of the preprocessed data from the new ADS40 airborne scanner produced by Leica Geosystems. The very high spatial resolution of 0.25 to 0.5 meters opens new possibilities in land-use classification but also causes different challenges for data processing. Research about the application of such data for agricultural mapping is currently done in the area of Vordemwald AG Switzerland. The big advantage of the exceptional high spatial resolution is the possibility to map small inhomogeneities within singel crop-fields. With different vegetation parameters, derived from the NIR- and red channel, it is possible to detect even small zones of plant stress within the vegetation cover. New implementation possibilities for such products are an importent topic of our research.
