Summary / Zusammenfassung	Beside information about screening programs by health agencies the belief of primary care physicians in the usefulness of screening tests play a decisive role in the attendance rate of screening programs. General physicians are often the primary dialogue partners concerning health related issues. A parameter for the physician’s degree of believe in the beneficial effects of screening is their personal behaviour expressed by recommending it to their relatives and undergo testing by themselves. In this study we investigate if physicians in the German speaking part of Switzerland recommend regular screening for colon, breast and prostate cancer to their clients and partners and undergo the tests by themselves.
