The role of incentives in the rehabilitation of pain patients
Original title / Originaltitel
Die Rolle von Anreizen in der Rehabilitation von Schmerzpatienten
Summary / Zusammenfassung
Sport activity has positive effects on health and well-being. But researchers correspond that only the maintenance of exercising guarantees its positive effects. Sport exercising has therefore to be integrated in everyday life. Above all such integration is necessary for pain patients to be able to reduce pain and negative well-being. The project is based on the possibility to help patients to transfer the training of the rehabilitation in everyday life. Hereby the motivational concept of incentives plays an important role. According to prior research the combination of two sources of incentives, namely activity-specific incentives and incentives from future events and the valence of an incentive, namely positive and negative are important predictors of a complex human behaviour like sport exercise. Different experimental manipulations will be compared and its effects on well-being and maintenance will be analysed.
