| Summary / Zusammenfassung | Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging is being increasingly used for the pre- and postoperative evaluation of patients with congenital heart disease. Particularly, CMR is nowadays being considered as the gold-standard technique for evaluation of the volumes and function of both, the left and the right ventricle. Normal ranges for right-and left ventricular volumes in the adult have been reported; in contrast normal data in children are lacking. Aim of this study is to establish normal ranges for the right- and left ventricular volumes and myocardial mass in healthy children, by using the SSFP pulse sequence at CMR and covering the full spectrum of the pediatric age and size. |
