The SINGAPORE project focusses on the development of a query service for a heterogeneous network of information sources. The service should allow the users to regard all information available in a uniform way and to query and correlate this information arbitrarily. The query service is universal in the sense that all kinds of information sources will be considered.

The project follows the general direction of database research to provide individual database management services that can be used and combined in different ways and in various environments.
